Why I Chose my Specialties
Choosing areas of expertise was important because it allowed me to focus. Focusing on solutions for survivors has ensured that, with grace, survivors are able to move towards a life of their dreams. Trauma can be complicated. With Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Accelerated Resolution Therapy, survivors can reduce past burdens and regain a life where they feel empowered.
Accelerated Resolution Therapy
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a unique, evidence based, approach where the therapist guides a client to replace the negative images in the mind that causes stress with positive images of the client’s choosing. Women’s Mental Health
I began working with women in 2008, providing therapy with the Sexual Assault Victim Examination Program as a crisis counselor. As a rape crisis advocate, I did therapy in jails, hospitals, libraries, schools, parks, and everywhere in between. I have further experience with families and children as a counselor and administrator with Adoption Related Services. I have years of consistent experience doing one on one therapy in local Women’s shelters, care facilities, and correctional facilities.
Accelerated Resolutions Therapy is a large piece of my practice and is used when appropriate.
Assisting women on their healing journey today is one of my greatest passion.
