About Jennifer Teoli MSW, LCSW
With over a decade of experience as a one-on-one counselor, I have had the privilege of supporting and guiding individuals through their healing journeys since 2008. My background includes on-call crisis counseling, counseling and administration roles for youth wellness organizations, and advisory positions for different international organizations. My therapeutic approach is based in evidence based practices, with specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Accelerated Resolutions Therapy (ART).
Through my experience, I have witnessed the power of these modalities and the relief they can bring my clients. It has been my own journey that has shown that compassionate and effective therapy can change the trajectory of people’s lives. With dedication to a safe and calm environment, I focus on Trauma and PTSD Recovery and Women’s Mental Health.
Practice Philosophy
Working closely with each individual is how therapists are able to empower change and inspire wellbeing. The brain has natural, subconscious ways of protecting itself. For example, someone affected by a car accident involving a red pickup truck, may recover physically. But since, every time they see a red pickup truck, they may involuntarily react. Symptoms could be rather small, like shortness of breath, or much more severe. The brain associates the danger from the past to the present, even if the present is safe.
My experience using CBT and ART allows for clients to share specifics of their stories or to not talk at all.

Credentials and Experience
I completed my Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of South Florida in 2008 and achieved LCSW licensure that year, as well. I started individual counseling as a crisis counselor, and medical assistant in the Sexual Assault Victim Examination Program. As a rape crisis advocate, I did therapy in jails, hospitals, schools, parks, libraries, and everywhere in between. I gained further experience working as both a counselor and administrator in the Child Abuse Recovery Program and with Adoption Related Services. I have served on the Advisory Board for the International Association of Human Trafficking Investigators. I have specific training and years of experience with Cognotive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).
This experience has led to strategic partnerships across Pinellas County. Notably, partnerships with law enforcement, schools and universities, community support facilities, local non-profit organizations, and local hospitals.
